From time to time, Mile High Outdoor donates billboard space in Denver to worthy causes.
A few weeks ago, we gave space in a digital billboard to the Crider family. Kelsey, 26 years old, had been living with kidney disease for almost a decade. Three kidney transplants had failed, leaving Kelsey and her family on the hunt once again for a matching kidney donor.
The digital billboard space that Mile High Outdoor donated in Monument caught the eye of Nate Toci, a 21-year-old member of the US Army Reserves. He decided to call and have the test to determine whether or not he was a match for Kelsey, attributing his selflessness to his army training.
Fortunately for Kelsey, Nate was a perfect match and he chose to go through with the transplant. They met in recovery at the University of Colorado Hospital and bonded over their mutual affection for the Lord of the Rings movies.
We hope this story warms your heart as much as it did ours. We wish both Kelsey and Nate long, healthy lives!
